Advance Reader Team

If you join my team, you’ll get an advance copy of The Red Fortress for free, and subsequent books in the series, before its release date. In return I’ll ask you for an honest review at the time of the book’s official release. I’d also love to hear from you, and if you send me feedback I’ll put your name in the acknowledgements (but only with your permission). You’ll also get the first look at the cover by the fabulous Jenny at Seedlings Design Studio.

Reviews can be the difference between an author’s success and failure and are critically important for many reasons: they help other readers discover new authors and books, they help authors qualify for advertising and promotional opportunities, and they boost books’ visibility by moving them higher on rankings and lists.

Advance Reader Teams are a win-win situation for everyone. Readers are the first to enjoy new releases from their favorite authors at no cost while authors gain much needed support and enthusiasm in launching their books.

Before you sign up, here’s the technical information you need to know.

Advance review copies, also called ARCs, are provided free of charge to members of the Advance Reader Team before the scheduled release in exchange for an honest review at online retailers such as Amazon, Kobo and iBooks, as well as reader groups such as Goodreads and Shelfari. Review copies may also be distributed after a book has been released. (I’ll be adding a page with helpful tips on how to write a review soon.)

If you’d like to join my Advance Reader Team, you should enjoy young adult fantasy and not be shy about posting a review online. It doesn’t need to be an essay, and even a one-line review helps.  You are not obligated to read and review every book. I will send out an the ARC one month before the official release date and I may contact you from time to time with other exciting news, like new covers, reader bonuses or giveaways. Your privacy is important to me (as mine is to me!) so I will never share your data with third parties. Any questions about that? Read my privacy policy. If you have feedback and you want your name included in the acknowledgements, I’ll need to hear from you at least a week before the release date to make the changes to the book.
